Zahid Ganie

Zahid Maqbool, one of the prominent budding journalists of South Kashmir hails from the most volatile area of South Kashmir, Tral. He has the distinction of working for the major English dailies of Kashmir too in different capacities. Previously he has been a volunteer and the communication officer for the NGO, CAUSE (Concerned About Universal Social Empowerment), the organization which spearheaded many anti-drug campaigns across Kashmir valley. Apart from this, Zahid has conducted many camps on mental health awareness and career counseling to young students of the valley through the CAUSE organization. Since past three years Zahid has taught journalism at different colleges of the Kashmir valley. Despite being a full time reporter for the most circulated newspaper of the valley, Greater Kashmir, Zahid joined Video Volunteers after he was impressed by the way of working from grassroots level and how Video Volunteers is committed to change the lives of unheard communities.
