Dimpi is from Koderma district[JH], the Mica capital of India. Despite the abundance of natural resources it is one of the country's 250 most backward districts; clear evidence that extractive industries rarely bring the economic development that they promise. Dimpi hasbeen associated with the Birbhor PTG to spread awareness on ill affects of extensive Mica mining in her region. As a Correspondent Changemaker, Dimpi plans to make videos on displacement and health issues that the mining has resulted in.
