He believes that destruction of the environment is the primary reason his people have repeatedly suffered cyclones and flooding, and believes that change can come with a two-pronged approach of awareness combined withaccess to education, knowledge and technology. While mobilizing people around a common cause is crucial, Soumya also believes that achieving small impacts on issues like lack of electricity and roads will go a long way in gaining people’s faith.
