About 80% of the population in Lohardaga district depends upon agricultural & forest produce for sustenance. Mariam Toppo comes from a small village called Sithiyo in the district. She has a strong hold over the local issues and was part of the movement against sponge iron factory in her area that threatened the agricultural activities of the community. As a video activist she wants to right the wrongs her people witness. She thinks camera is a powerful device, which will help her to fight against the corrupt babus who drain away the hard earned money of the people.
