Community Correspondent, Vrinda Azad's family recently faced a grave situation where a woman in a family went into labour in the middle of the night. Not so surprising you'd think but in this case having a baby at night meant having to make an arduous journey to the next town in search of a doctor.
Though compulsory there is no doctor on duty at the Health Center in Jairam Nagar, Chhattisgarh. In emergencies at night residents are compelled to take a road which is in shambles.
Vrinda says, "The road is such that chances of accidents doubles up during night. All this won't happen if we have a doctor during day and at night too."
Vrinda's relative had a lucky escape, both mother and baby are doing fine. Close to 4000 residents of Jairam Nagar, Chhattisgarh pray that they don't face such situations.
Call To Action: To change the situation demand a doctor 24X7 at Jairam Nagar, Health Center by calling V.K.Kurrey at 09406113095, Block Medical Officer, Masturi, Chhattisgarh.
