No Shelter for this Anganbari in Joypur, West Bengal

The ICDS center in Karkara village of Purulia district has been going on beside the road as it has no building of its own. The teacher is constantly afraid of all the big and small vehicles that ply on the road. 150 mothers and children are dependent on this center for food, which is cooked inside an open shed. The teacher has to go fetch water from far away as there are no taps either. Be it whatever weather, children eat and study in open air. The center is still running in spite of these issues. Community correspondent Annapurna Kumari informed the authorities about the problem but they say that there is no land to build the center.

The community demands a proper building for the center along with all other basic amenities needed. We can help the community by calling the BDO of Joypur block on 8373068609 and pressurizing her to take immediate action. An ICDS center functioning this way is only waiting for a terrible incident to happen. ACT NOW.
