No pension for disabled people in Jahanabad, Bihar – Reports Asha

People with disabilities are entitled to benefits from the Samajik Suraksha Pension Yojna (Social Security Pension Scheme). But a family in Alua Bigha village of Bihar is deprived of the same in spite of having three disabled members. Suamnti Devi does not have a Disability pension card even though she has been trying for a long time. She even met the Block Development Officer who paid no heed to her and she ended up running from pillar to post. Sumanti can manage to do some light work in the house but to continue running between government offices is way beyond her capacity. She also takes care of the house and her two children, one of whom is also disabled. The very schemes that were supposed to support people with disabilities are making their life even more difficult. You can help.

Please call the Block Development Officer on 9431818073 and ask him to take immediate action.
