Anshu Raj Maurya, our Community Correspondent from Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district reports on the mixed response that vaccination against COVID-19 is drawing.
A large number of people received vaccinations in the Baheri panchayat of Hazaribagh and were happy about it. One of the ANMs that Anshu spoke to narrated the interesting story of a heart patient who took the shot nonetheless. "We received a man for vaccination who told us that he had a heart condition. I phoned my supervisor for advise and he advised against it. However, the man went ahead with the shot and he is healthy and has no side effects," said Anita Kumari, the ANM. She further added that they keep the patient under observation for 30 minutes to see any side effects and also have drugs to deal with it. So people need not fear vaccinations.
However, on the other hand there are several people who are still not convinced of the vaccines. Some cite side effects while others say they know of people who died after taking the shot and will not take it.
