Lack of Anganwadi Workers Affecting Children and Women Attending the Anganwadi Centres

Two anganwadi centers in Nashik, has stopped proving any healthcare services to their beneficiares, as the AWW refuses to come to the center.

Anganwadi workers under the ICDS program hold a pivotal role in the centers due to her close and continuous contact with the beneficiaries. She also works as a primary tool against the scourge of child malnourishment, infant mortality and curbing preventable diseases.

However, two Anganwadi centers in Sahakar Nagar, Bhimwadi, Nashik having a strength of 100 children, 15 pregnant women, and 20 nursing mothers are deprived of any health care services. Reason - the Anganwadi worker does not come to the center. When our Community Correspondent Maya Kodhve, raised this issue, and while making a video she questioned the volunteer in the Anganwadi center regarding the absence of an Anganwadi worker, but nothing adequate came out. Instead, she threatened them and asked her to leave.
