A Poem to the Panchayat: a plea for old age pension

May 5th 2015 | Jharkhand, Dhanbad District, Baghmara block, Chatrutand Panchayat, Murlidih Village | Halima Ejaz

More than a dozen beneficiaries of Old Age Pension have not received any money in a decade. They have tried all possible routes to avail their entitlement but each of their pleas have been lost in the deep canyons of administrative indifference.

It seems like schemes are administered through a sieve, whether via corrupt executives siphoning off money or funds not being transferred from the center -- there are serious loopholes in the system which can be handled if the responsible authority is alert and connected to communities for a steady supply of information and reports.

Please call/text the Block Development Officer of Baghmara, Santosh Kumar Garg on 9471191628 - remind him of his commitment to do the correct thing.
