Inefficient Electrification

The electricity blackout in North India in 2012 caused a huge uproar and raised many questions about the country's ability to cater to growing electricity demands. For masses of the Indian population living without electricity is a daily reality. In this video Community Correspondent Ramjag Gaud reports from Pipra village, Chhattisgarh detailing the complete mismanagement of the Government electrification scheme. Like in many parts of rural India, the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana is supposed to provide the necessary infrastructure in this village to bring electricity. While the poles were fixed 3 years ago no further work was done to bring power to the village. Now frustrated at the inaction residents like Pachkalram have completely lost their faith in the system and those who represent it.They hope that this video will highlight the problems they face and help solve them. Call to Action: Please call Mr LR Koroti the Executive Officer of Nawagarh Block on 09406004127 and ask him to finish the work.
