10 Women Made to Wait for Pensions

Gori Bi, lives in Aundha village, Hingoli Distrcit, Maharashtra. Since her husband and son died, she has been living on her own. Life is a daily struggle and she manages to get by but a little support now and then would be great. Community Correspondent Radhika, who is a neighbour, brings you her story. According to the Government Widow Pension Scheme , she should be getting financial support but she has not gotten any help yet. Gori has submitted all the required documents to the Village head. There are other 10 women in Aundha Village, like Gori bi, who do not get any assistance from the Government scheme. There are days when they have to sleep on an empty stomach.
