Patna Police has demolished several huts in the Malahi Pakri area of Patna to secure land for the ongoing construction of Patna metro rail. Residents allege that they were forcefully evicted out of there huts without any warning. Huts were demolished by heavy machinery. Some of them were even burnt.
"No politician or officer has visited us yet. We are not even hopeful of receiving any house or land as compensation," said Golu Kumar, one of the residents who is now on the road with his family.
Residents said that Video Volunteers was the first media network to report on the issue and that they fear speaking on camera against those responsible. They demand action against those who demolished their homes and compensation.
