Fixing Ujjwala: More Than 100 Women Get Cooking Gas

In the 8th episode, we will see how gas connections were provided to more than 100 BPL families with the support from our community correspondents.

In 2016, PM launched the Ujjwala scheme for people under BPL and the government said that providing LPG connections to BPL households will ensure universal coverage of cooking gas in the country. This measure will empower women and protect their health. It will reduce drudgery and the time spent on cooking. It will also provide employment for rural youth in the supply chain of cooking gas.

In this episode, we will see how the scheme has failed its beneficiaries and how our community correspondents fixed it.
