Here in this video, a girl who’s born in 2009 is about to get married. One ASHA worker mentioned this incident to the Community Correspondent Krishna Mondal and she along with the Police, School Teachers, allied NGOs of the area could prevent the marriage, in the nick of time.
Doban is a backward area, 40 kilometres from district headquarters, situated in Lolab Valley. They do not have any hospitals or schools here and hardly any other source of livelihood than rearing cattle.
The basic hygiene of this red Light district is almost non-existent, living conditions are dank and squalid. Debgopal Mondal, a Community Correspondent of Video Volunteers (VV) made a video about their living conditions and was screening and engaging with the community about ways to solve these issues.
