An accident-prone primary school

The school compound of Bhishwa municipal primary school, Uttar Pradesh can be a ground for a tragedy. The school, which has more than 50 students has no boundary walls and faces a busy road which witnesses rush throughout school hours hampering the children’s lunch hour and play hours.

The school premise is a breeding ground for diseases too, as children from the surrounding areas come and defecate in the open grounds. The playground of the school along with toilets for both boys and girls are also without a boundary wall. Two children have been injured till now following accidents due to lack of the boundary wall. “I was leaving from my school compound on my cycle when I collided with a speeding truck. I injured my hand and chest” says Bhagwandeen, a student at the school . A similar incident injured Pinky and forced her to miss ten days of school.

Our community correspondent Vinay Kumar Sharma from Uttar Pradesh appeals to our viewers to raise their voices for these students so that they can get acccess to safe and hygenic environment for education. Call the Basic Education Officer of Basti Janpath, Uttar Pradesh on +91-9565727275 and appeal him to build a boundary
