Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Directors and Senior Management Team to develop and implement communications and fundraising activities that advance VV’s mission and raise the visibility of the organization 

Fundraising:

Research potential funders

Write funding proposals and slide decks

Handle correspondence with foundations and individual donors

Execute crowd-funding campaigns

 

Internal learning:

Conduct in-depth interviews, write case studies and event reports for use in internal learning, donor reports and in external communications like the annual reports.

Manage our communications channels (whats app and FaceBook) with the network of Community Correspondents in order to train them to be better communicators and gather meaningful content

Work with program teams to develop tools for both qualitative and quantitative learning.

 

Writing and content creation

Write articles to publicize VV’s key messages

Write organization newsletters/e-blasts

assist in the writing of a book about Video Volunteers

Write social media content from the internal learning copy

 

Key Characteristics

·  Be a Graduate (Master’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience) in the area of journalism/ communications/social science/ people’s rights/ international development or related fields;

·  Have 5-10 years of experience in external communications; preference will be given to people with experience with NGOs from the global South and/or international development organisations;

·  Fluency in Hindi

·  Be an excellent writer in English and be able to communicate well with both internal and external audiences;

·  Have research experience and experience working with marginalized communities

·  Be detail oriented and thorough, with an ability to self-motivate and produce high-quality work;

·  Be committed to ongoing organizational learning
