Badasangrah, Madhupur District, Jharkhand | Mukesh Rajak
The government has adopted several schemes for distribution of water in rural India. But even after the schemes are implemented the villagers suffer due to acts of people who try and sabotage these facilities.
In Badasangrah village there is a handpump which had been installed many years ago. But one of the men in the village whose name is Akhulu Das removed the head of the handpump and for two years the people of the village could not use it. He even covered it up with bushes. Whenever someone would try and use it Akhulu Das would threaten them and man handle them and tell them it is his private handpump.
Mukesh heard about this story and went to shoot it who was also man handled while trying to shoot the hidden handpump.
The same day Mukesh got all the villagers together and took the footage to the authorities at the Health Department and showed them the video. Immediately action was taken and an engineer was sent to fix the handpump.
