Volunteering with Us
Video Volunteers is always on the look out for great people to collaborate with us and the NGOs that have started Community Video Units. Opportunities would be at the Video Volunteers’ office in New York or with one of the CVUs or media organizations in India that we support. Here’s who we need:
Filmmakers to make films for Channel 19 and other advocacy purposes
Interns or college students to help on special projects, such as research, outreach, updating our training manuals or documentation. We can provide students with a great opportunity to learn about development issues, and working in a non-profit. Volunteers in New York may be able to work part-time.
Business School students to help develop business plans for the CVUs, and look at issues like sustainability and earned income.
Social work or international development students to do impact assessment and case studies.
People with Indian language skills to help with translation of videos. This can even be done at a distance.
How to Apply:
Send your resume and a cover letter to info(at)videovolunteers.org. Let us know your time availability and the kind of project you would like to undertake. Please note that in most cases (though not all), volunteers will need to cover their own expenses. Filmmaker-volunteers usually need to bring their own equipment.
